The GastroNomad® is a boutique travel company, focusing on exclusive and bespoke private tours in Italy.  Coupled with our local expertise, deep passion for Italy and Margie's advanced wine certifications,  we endeavor to provide an extraordinary and unique adventure, leaving you spellbound and eager to return.  We will send you to hidden gems, including special experiences at wineries and eateries designed exclusively for The GastroNomad® clients .  Eliminating the stress of travel in a foreign country, our tours are designed to give you a pampered journey based on your interests.  We go well beyond what you can do using search engines and travel sites to plan your trip and navigate through Italy. Piedmont

Beautiful hilly landscape in northern Italy, near the French border. Surrounded by mountains on 3 sides. A gourmand's paradise with some of the best cuisine in Italy.

Known for Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Gavi, Asti Spumante and the Alba White Truffle.

Tuscany

Located in central Italy. Its major cities are Florence, Pisa and Siena.

Known for Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Moltepulciano, Vin Santo, gorgeous sunsets stunning landscapes, and comforting Tuscan cuisines to pair with the wines.

Valpolicella and Trentino-Alto Adige

Valpolicella is just north of Verona and known for Valpolicella, Amarone, Ripassso, Recioto di Valpolicella wines.  Fruit trees and vegetation interspersed with the vineyards make for a beautiful landscape.

Trentino-Alto Adige is further north, at the edge of the Dolomite mountains and bordering Austria. It boasts many indigenous and international varieties, grown at higher altitudes, making a perfect backdrop for tastings.

Lake Como and Valtellina

The dramatic and breathtaking Lake Como is known for significantly more than its most famous Hollywood villa owner.  Enjoy everything from authentic and rustic venues to luxurious 5 star accommodations.

Valtellina is a stunning wine region with steep vineyards, just north of Lake Como. They produce elegant, structured and beautiful wines made with the Nebbiolo grape, the same grape used to produce the famous Barolos.
